The future is electric
"And it can make us move and live in new ways. My dream was to somehow work with this. When I found out that Vässla had gone bankrupt, I felt it was a good opportunity to stop dreaming and start doing something. I saw a brand that stood at the crossroads of mobility and sustainability, a brand that was too valuable to be buried. So with thoughts of business development, bike passion, and perhaps a touch of madness, I decided to buy the company last spring."
My summer holiday in customer service
"I wanted to quickly get Vässla up and running again and also build relationships with many disappointed customers. Because it is clear that as a customer, you become disappointed when a company goes bankrupt and your guarantees suddenly no longer apply. So I sat in customer service and answered questions all summer. My family might not have been completely satisfied with that summer vacation."
Then we built a new large warehouse
"It's nice to have real friends. Like Fredrik. I called him last spring, I needed help building a warehouse. Vässla had previously had three warehouses in different locations for some reason. Now we built one, and saved money that could be used for more fun things than that. For example, to develop even better bikes. So Fredrik and I built the new warehouse in Borås and moved in in August. This made logistics simpler and cheaper."
And now we look forward with an exciting collaboration
Now that everything is back on track for Vässla, we can start looking ahead. What will Vässla grow up to be? Throughout the year, we have begun a transformation journey that will continue for a long time to come. Among other things, a collaboration with one of the world's hottest design and tech companies, which will be involved in developing and designing our new moped. Designs and prototypes are already ready. But this partnership is about more than just product design. It's about creating new rules for what an electric vehicle can be.
A new way to own your bike or scooter
In addition to developing the trucks with innovative design and function, I also thought about a new business model that makes ownership safer and easier for customers. Instead of buying a vehicle with a battery, we will have a completely new solution where you will be able to decide how you want to own (or not) your vehicle. This is also a way to make electric mobility more accessible to everyone.
Soon it will be here, the new Weasel
"I can hardly contain myself for next year. The development of the new moped is complete and we have entered production. The launch will take place in early spring. We are constantly improving small and large details as we develop. We don't just do things as usual, we question everything and build better. It is often those small things that lead to big changes in the experience. Innovation is not just a buzzword and nice design. It is also things like recycling and secure ownership. Our new model is a big step forward for Vässla and the industry."
